There’s a particular kind of magic in simple things – a table set for friends, a pot of tea, a glass catching the afternoon light. It’s these small, sensory moments that often hold the most meaning, and for this release in our Art & Gin series, we wanted to capture exactly that.
This cocktail begins with our Honey Gin – soft, floral, and gently sweet – layered with the delicate tannins of Darjeeling tea. Pink grapefruit soda brings lift and brightness, finishing with a light fizz that makes the whole drink feel effortless and refreshing. A slice of lemon adds just enough sharpness to keep everything in balance.
It’s intentionally simple. Designed as a batch cocktail, it invites ease – something you can prepare ahead, pour generously, and enjoy without stepping away from the moment.
The artistic inspiration for this piece comes from two works that beautifully explore light and the everyday.
In Teacup Ballet, Olive Cotton transforms ordinary kitchen objects into something luminous and sculptural. The curve of a cup, the fall of shadow – everything feels carefully observed, yet completely natural.
Similarly, Tea and Bikkies by Jill Bryant celebrates the comfort of shared rituals – tea poured, biscuits passed, conversation flowing, all surrounded in warm light and beautiful flowers. Together, these works highlight something we often overlook: the beauty of everyday gatherings. Not the grand or the elaborate, but the simple act of being together.
This cocktail sits right in that space.
Light in alcohol, easy to make, and designed for sharing, it’s less about precision and more about presence.
So set the table, pour a glass. Elevate your everyday with someone special today.
